"Anti-Hero", live from St. Pancras Old Church

a collaboration with Hattie Whitehead and Edward Randell and a beautiful string quartet.

Last April I was asked to join “Heartstrings”, a wonderful collaboration with fellow singer-songwriters Hattie Whitehead, Edward Randell and string arranger / double bassist Loz Garett.

The plan? To fill a night with songs from each of us, harmonising with each other, accompanied by a beautiful string quartet. The venue was St. Pancras Old Church - a favourite of mine as London venues go.

And the gig was truly soul-warming. Singing with Hattie and Ed and hearing Loz and Sam Rowe’s gorgeous string arrangements just made me giddy with glee. I am thrilled to say that we recorded the whole thing!

So, here is a live recording of Anti-Hero, for your enjoyment. To those who were there - I hope this brings back as special a memory as it does for me. Below is a video snippet, and there is an audio download for you above!

String players: Kit Massey, Paloma Deike, Sally Wragg, Rich Phillips. Piano: Darius Timmer. Filmed by David Spearing and George Maguire.

Oh, and P.S. There are new shows in the diary! Sadly, not with string quartet but very exciting nonetheless. For my Substack friends (that means you!) I’m offering a free +1 for any show you have tickets for, so just drop me a message if you want in on that. (this doesn’t apply to Latitude as I do not wield such power..)
